"Bramberger Meat and Cabbage" from Odaa Restaurant, Minneapolis, MN
1 lb Cabbage, Head, Small 1 tb Vegetable Oil 2 Onions, Medium, Chopped 1/2 lb Pork, Lean, Cubed 1 lb Ground Beef, Lean 1 ts Caraway Seeds 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 ts Pepper 1/2 c White Wine, Dry 1 ts Vegetable Oil 3 Bacon, Strips, Thick Sliced Remove outer, wilted cabbage leaves and core. Place cabbage in a large pot of boiling water and simmer gently for 10 minutes. Remove and drain. gently pull off 12 leaves and set aside. Finely chop the rest of the cabbage. Heat 1 T vegetable oil; add onions, pork, and ground beef. Cook until lightly browned. Drain off excess fat. Add the chopped cabbage, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper. Pour in the white wine. Cover and simmer the mixture for 10 minutes, stirring often. Grease an ovenproof dish with 1 t of vegetable oil; line the dish with half the cabbage leaves. Spoon in the meat mixture, cover with the rest of the cabbage leaves. Cut bacon strips in half and arrange on top. Place in preheated 350oF oven; bake for approximately 45 minutes.

DESCRIPTION: I've been here several times, and I've never been disappointed. The bread is always fresh and warm from the oven. The sheer chai is perfect, easily the best I've ever had. With a large selection of vegetarian entrees, there's something for everyone.

DESCRIPTION: Well, okay. This restaurant was located on eat street of Minneapolis (Nicollet Ave). A friend and I decided to try this East African dishes. We walked in, the owner greeted us, which was quite intresting, and actually had suggested several plates after first asking our taste and if we were vegeterians or so on. Then he recommended different dishes for both of us. Well, the food was really amazing; something totally different than ever. It is not really like the wild "African" that I had in mind. Very well authentic I believe; it's mostly Someli with Italian and African influence on it. I had a dish called Ke'Ke which is my favorite now. It is homemade noodles with chicken curry. I'm craving for it now.

DESCRIPTION: You need to like cous-cous and lamb to appreciate The Fig, but if you do - go! It is set up in an old house that has modern art. It's not for a sheek night out. It's a neighborhood place that serves wonderful food at great prices. To me it has the best price/value equation in St. Paul. My wife and I go at least once a month!

DESCRIPTION: A wonderful place with non-varying high quality food and good, friendly service. It's the restaurant that other chefs eat at when they're out on the town. Everything on the menu is plain excellent, the flavor combinations are the best.
